Here’s a system of note taking that may help you if you are ever needing to learn something in a college lecture hall and may help you structure your notes. I find that one of the hardest things to do in college is to stay focused and not just copy straight off the Powerpoint presentations. This is called the Cornell Note Taking System that divides your note pages into three sections. One is a main summary, then a summary of that and then a set of questions based on the notes to study later on.
Also check out the site because it has audio and free learning aides on the site.
There are a few other methods of note taking that include an Outlining Method that has main points on the left and the details underneath more to the right. Think of it as bullets or tables of contents.
There is also a Box and Bullet Method that uses a big main point in a box and then underneath a few bulleted points with ideas to clarify the above main idea.
If you are visual you might like a Mapping Method which lets you create lines and points and relationships between ideas. Think of it as a hub connected by wires.
