People with disabilities have contributed to the workforce and making everyone’s life a little better. There are many people with disabilities and that are now able to be employed through to the equal opportunity acts that give them a chance to work alongside you and me. Many of these individuals just need a secure and safe place to work. They need the ability to learn new skills and ear competitive wages and continue to work with others. There are now active engagement opportunities and worker compensation programs to allow an able bodied person or person who is able to perform the work to still keep their line of work. Not only that but they are provided reasonable accommodations to continue to be part of the work force.
October of each year is “National Disability Employment Awareness Month.”
